I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over fifteen years of experience across NHS inpatient, outpatient and community services. I have worked with people experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety, stress, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I have led the psychology service within a regional Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Unit and worked in a Major Trauma service. Through these roles, I have developed particular expertise in supporting adults as they adjust to life-changing injuries and the psychological impact of trauma. I also have extensive experience working with people living with chronic health conditions, including Long Covid and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), alongside specialist experience supporting people with Functional Neurological Disorders.
My therapeutic style is evidence-based, compassionate and tailored to each individual. I have completed specialist training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I have a particular interest in the relationship between the body, mind and nervous system. To deepen my understanding of this connection, I completed yoga teacher training. This has enhanced my appreciation of the role of breath, movement and body awareness in supporting nervous system regulation and psychological wellbeing. I draw on these models and practices in a thoughtful and flexible way, adapting therapy to each person’s unique needs, goals, and circumstances.
I believe that meaningful therapy begins with a safe, trusting relationship where you feel heard, understood and accepted. Together, we will make sense of the difficulties you are facing, exploring how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel and respond. From there, we will identify practical steps to help you move towards the life you want to live, drawing on your strengths and values to support lasting change.
I offer clinical appointments on Fridays from 09:00–17:00. My fee is £130 per 60-minute session, or in line with insurance company schedules where applicable. Case-managed fees can be discussed on request. I am registered with Aviva and Vitality, with registration with other insurers including Bupa, WPA, Healix, and AXA pending.
